Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) welcomes the upcoming investigation by Monitor and will work closely with them to ensure that they have access to all of the appropriate information so that any necessary improvements can be implemented as swiftly as possible.
Tracy Bullock, MCHFT Chief Executive, said: “We have been working closely with Monitor for a number of weeks to review our overall situation and whilst they will now look in more detail at our finances, they were satisfied with our operational performance, service quality and governance arrangements.
“The deterioration of our financial position is in line with our expected position for 2015/16 and is aligned with independent reviews of our financial sustainability previously undertaken.
“Whilst this deficit position may be less than some other hospitals, the impact of smaller cash reserves means that the Trust is likely to require additional financial support going forwards.
“Despite the current financial position, the Trust remains focused on maintaining and improving the quality and safety of the care that we provide, building on our recent positive CQC “Good” rating and national awards for the quality of the services we provide.”
