Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity has celebrated the start of its sixth successful year by launching a new logo.

The charity, which raises vital funds for Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT), was formally launched in 2011.

Since then, thanks to the overwhelming support from the local community, patients, visitors and Trust staff, it has delivered two major fundraising appeals and raised a total of nearly £5m.

The new master brand has been introduced to raise awareness of the charity behind the successful One in Eleven Appeal, which raised £1.8m for the redevelopment of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Leighton Hospital and, more recently, the £1m MRI  Scanner Appeal.

Charity Manager Laura Riddle said: “A decision was made by the Trustees to elevate the master brand awareness so that businesses and residents supporting Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity would understand that they can still donate to the charity even if we don’t have a live appeal.

“Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity supports everyone in the community - funds raised go to supporting Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford and together they provide essential care for all ages of the family.”

Middlewich’s Bare Bones Marketing produced design ideas, which were then voted on by staff and Governors from MCHFT. The butterfly design, pictured, received 70 per cent of the vote and was therefore chosen as the charity’s new logo.

The butterfly was featured as an option as it represents transforming or transformation, which is suitable for the charity and Trust for a number of reasons.

Firstly, the patient is transformed through the treatment they receive. Secondly, the charity’s work helps to transform the service the Trust can offer and, thirdly, fundraisers and supporters can transform their community through their donations. The butterfly is also reflective of the rural location of Cheshire.

Tracy Bullock, Chief Executive of MCHFT, said: “Our community is very important to us and we want to serve the residents in the best way possible. Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity is very valuable in helping to enable Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to deliver this.

“We would like to thank the local community for their continued support for Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity and MCHFT staff for taking the time to vote for their favourite brand. We are delighted they believe in the new master brand and have been part of the process.”
