Location

The Audiology department is located in the Outpatients Department on the ground floor of Leighton Hospital making it easily accessible and wheelchairs are available should patients require this. 

About

Audiology is all about the science of hearing and balance.  We work closely with Ear Nose & Throat, Paediatric Audiology, Newborn Hearing Screening programme and the Deafness Support Network.

 

Services

The Audiology Department at Leighton Hospital provides a range of hearing related services including; 

  • Diagnostic assessment of hearing

  • Assessment for and prescription fitting of digital hearing aids, including Bone Anchored Hearing aids

  • Tinnitus management clinics

  • Rehabilitation for patients with hearing loss and tinnitus

  • Assistive equipment to help with hearing as well as maintenance and care of hearing aids

  • Commerical hearing aids are available to purchase through Hearing Matters, a private hearing aid dispensing firm. Appointments are avaialable on a Friday morning at Leighton, on an adhoc basis. (Appointment only).

Opening times

The department is open Monday to Friday. 8.30-4.00

Extended hour appointments are available from 8.00 – 5.30.
