Adult Outpatient Physiotherapy Service

The Adult Outpatient Physiotherapy Service provides a musculoskeletal service to large parts of Central Cheshire.

The Service primarily treats adults, but will accept referrals for children where the primary problem is a musculoskeletal disorder, e.g. knee pain.

Aims of service

The service aims to provide specialist assessment of patients with a wide range of joint and muscular related problems in a range of venues to provide local care to patients.

This includes an assessment to identify the cause of the problem and to implement an agreed care programme with patients.

The Physiotherapist will provide specialist physiotherapy treatment where indicated, and provide all patients with expert advice on the ongoing self-management of their condition.

Where indicated, patients will be referred onto specialist rehabilitation classes, Advanced Clinical Specialists or Extended Scope Practitioners to ensure a comprehensive package of assessment and treatment within the Physiotherapy service.

The service provides rehabilitation to improve the outcome following surgery e.g. knee joint replacement or trauma e.g. fractures.

Who we are

The Service has a wide mix of staff grades, including Physiotherapists, Advanced Clinical Specialists, Physiotherapy Extended Scope Practitioners and Therapy Assistants.
