As part of Cheshire East Council’s North West Crewe Package there will be additional road closures around Leighton Hospital for a period of two weeks, starting from Thursday 1 December.
The road closures will directly affect Middlewich Road:
- Middlewich Road (A530) will have a single lane closure in place for all Northbound traffic between the Hospital entrance 3 (Treatment Centre) and the junction with Flowers Lane.
- There will be Southbound access only from the traffic lights at the junction with Flower Lane to the Smithy Lane junction.
If you usually travel to Leighton Hospital from the North (i.e. from the Middlewich direction) and use Middlewich Road to access the hospital from either the treatment centre entrance (entrance 3) or either of the entrances off Smithy Lane then this will be open.
You will not be able to return in the same direction and will have to leave the hospital site and return to Middlewich Road via Flowers Lane only.
This map shows the closure.
We have been informed that this work will last for a period of two weeks, beginning on Thursday 1 December and lasting until Friday 16 December.
