In the last five years, the Community Services team at Mid Cheshire Hospital Trust has proudly accredited 24 Queen’s Nurses. This achievement highlights the high quality of care our Community Nurses provide every day.

Nationally, this places Cheshire in the top five regions across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland for the number of Queen’s Nurses, according to the Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI) map.

The Queen’s Nurse accreditation is awarded to community nurses who show exceptional patient care, ongoing learning, and strong leadership.

Jo Bowen, Head of Quality, Nursing, and Professional Leadership at Cheshire Community Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), said:

“I am incredibly proud of our talented community nurse team. They put patient care at the heart of everything they do. Our nurses work in the heart of the community, supporting people in their homes, local health hubs, and care homes. Their work spans many areas, from palliative care to diabetes and cancer. Seeing so many of our nurses becoming Queen’s Nurses proves the high-quality care we provide to patients in Cheshire, as well as the high standards we hold ourselves to.”

When asked what it meant to become a Queen’s Nurse, many nurses said they felt honoured, appreciated, and proud to have their work recognised.
