The main entrance to the Outpatients Department (OPD) and physiotherapy at Leighton Hospital will be closed from Monday 6 January.
The closure is necessary to allow for hoardings to be installed as part of preparation work ahead of the installation of a new modular building.
Patients and visitors are advised to access OPD and physiotherapy via the hospital’s main entrance and follow signage along the yellow corridor.
The new modular building is scheduled to arrive in early March and will house Audiology and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) services, which are due to relocate to the new facility by late summer 2025.
The move is due to the presence of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) planks within the OPD roof. Remediation work is necessary to keep the hospital safe due to the presence of the RAAC.
Patients and visitors who have difficulty with walking, should go to the hospital’s Main Entrance where they can request support getting to OPD.
