Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are saddened by the news Her Majesty The Queen has passed away and our heartfelt condolences are with the Royal Family at this time.
The Queen dedicated her life to public service and for the NHS as a whole it was a very proud moment when she awarded NHS staff the George Cross earlier this year, for compassion and courage over the last 74 years but particularly during the pandemic.
Here at Mid Cheshire we have recently celebrated our 50th Birthday, sharing many images and reflections of when Her Majesty The Queen formally opened Leighton Hospital on the 5th May 1972 and these memories will always stay with us.
The Bank Holiday on Monday 19th September is an opportunity for us to remember The Queen’s life and service.
On this day essential urgent and emergency care services will remain open, including our Emergency Department.
We are also putting plans in place to deliver as much urgent planned care (such as cancer treatment) as possible.
If there are any changes to your appointments or planned care we will be in touch with you individually to keep you updated.
