Carolyn Wilkins - retouch.jpgProfessor Carolyn Wilkins has today formally announced her decision to stand down from her role as Trust Chair.

Carolyn, who joined Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on 3 July, 2023 will stand down with immediate effect to enable her to focus on her family.

She said: “It has not been an easy decision, but now is the time I need to dedicate my energies and time on my family and loved ones. In the short time I have been part of Mid Cheshire I have been privileged to spend time with extraordinary people who have a genuine pride for the Trust, their colleagues and the patients they serve.

“I am grateful for all the opportunities I have had during my time in Mid Cheshire and I believe that I leave an organisation which is inspired by the possibilities that lie ahead and I would like to thank everyone for their commitment to the people and communities we serve."

The Trust Board of Governors are responsible for appointing Carolyn's permanent successor and further details about the arrangements will be shared in due course.

Ian Moston, CEO for Mid Cheshire Hospitals, has taken time to reflect on the impact of Carolyn's time as chair, saying: “I want to thank Carolyn for the work she delivered during her time at Mid Cheshire, her skills and passion around priorities such as health inequalities and service integration have left a legacy on the organisation and our future plans. We wish her well for the future."
