Radio Leighton will be broadcasting its final show on 5 January 2024. This final day of broadcasting will bring an end to a truly memorable journey of hospital radio.
Since it began broadcasting football commentaries in January 1967 to the Memorial Hospital and request programme from the 15 November 1968 from a studio at the Coppenhall Hospital, Radio Leighton has been a source of local news, entertainment, and music. It has entertained and supported patients during their time in hospital and the dedicated NHS staff who care for them. Heartfelt thanks go to every volunteer, past and present, for their commitment, enthusiasm, and hard work.
Please join Radio Leighton as they celebrate the station’s final moments on 5 January 2024, for a memorable farewell broadcast. There will be the opportunity to reflect on the highlights of the many years of the radio as well as a chance to listen to some of your most cherished memories of Leighton Hospital past and present.
