Strasys and Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) are proud to have been shortlisted for the Best Healthcare Analytics Project for the NHS at the upcoming HSJ Partnership Awards 2024.

Following the pandemic, Mid Cheshire was at a point of inflection. The Trust needed to ensure it was able to tackle instability, operational challenges, system change, a growing demand and backlog coupled with workforce pressures. Strasys, a leading analytics and innovation agency, was asked to support a strategy refresh aimed at how best to create clinically and financially sustainable care to meet the changing and growing needs of the local population.

Ian Moston, Chief Executive Officer at MCHFT, commented: “It is excellent to be recognised by the HSJ in this award. Our innovative strategy truly understands the needs of our population, and supports us to understand what matters to our local communities now and for the future. Our staff continue to be empowered to provide the best care possible, using the strategy to enable them to think and act differently. Our strategy delivers by seeking to meet the needs of patients rather than the interests of the organisation.”

The analytics approach and methodology used in this project is new to the NHS. Need, behaviours and motivation of service users and their healthcare needs were combined with Strasys’s innovative methods, resulting in a simplified transformation agenda, making better use of limited resources. A place-based agenda was agreed upon, reimagining the Trust from a hospital to a care organisation.

Naeem Younis, Founder and CEO of Strasys, adds: “I echo Ian’s comments and thank the judges for the recognition received so far. The achievements in Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust include creating a single version of the truth, connecting all available data such as patient feedback and experiences, activity, performance, quality, workforce and socio-economic data. The analysis aimed to give patients a voice, put them at the heart of decision-making and service redesign, and create a common narrative committed by all system stakeholders.”

HSJ editor Alastair McLellan comments: “It always gives me great pleasure to congratulate our finalists at this stage of the judging process and this year is no exception as we acknowledge Strasys and Mid Cheshire Hospitals FT for being shortlisted in the category of Best Healthcare Analytics Project for the NHS."

The 2023 awards judging panel was once again made up of a diverse range of highly influential and respected figures within the healthcare community, including; Tosca Fairchild, Chief of Staff, South East London ICB, Matthew Hopkins, Chief Executive, Mid and South Essex NHS FT, Shabina Azmi, Chief Pharmacist, Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes ICB, Professor Edward Kunonga, Director of Population Health Management, NENC ICB and NECS, as well as a range of esteemed healthcare leaders from across the UK.

The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony at Evolution London on 21 March 2024.
