The first floor Crossroads will be temporarily closed between 8am and 2pm on Saturday, 9 December.
This will allow us to install steel supports as part of the ongoing RAAC management plan.
During the closure, we will restrict the usual access to and from the first floor blue corridor – except in the event of a fire that results in the evacuation of a ward.
The use of the lifts near the Crossroads will not be affected from either the ground or first floor. However, access to the blue corridor will be temporarily closed from this direction.
Our grey, green, and yellow corridors will remain fully accessible throughout the works.
During the temporary closure, all staff and patients are asked to use alternative routes to get to the first floor blue corridor. The suggested lifts and staircases are:
- Lifts opposite Ward 15
- Lifts opposite Ward 14
- Stairs opposite Ward 8
- Stairs opposite Ward 9/10
The main entrance staircase will also remain open throughout the works. Signs with information on alternative routes will be put up.
