Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will begin using SMS text messages to contact patient waiting lists to enable patients to make choices about the care they need.
By using text messages, the Trust can quickly and easily contact patients to let them know current estimated wait times. Patients will also be able to advise if they no longer require their appointment.
Any patients who do not use text communications or who don’t respond will be contacted by post.
It’s common for health circumstances to change and in this way, patients can easily remove themselves from the waiting list and have their appointment allocated to other patients.
Patients that do not respond will remain on the waiting list.
