Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust has been awarded Gold Standard Certificates for successfully reducing its carbon emissions and water consumption.

Following an in-depth independent assessment, the government-approved accreditations demonstrate the Trust’s long held commitment to reducing both carbon emissions and water consumption, underpinning its wider Green Plan sustainability goals.

The Carbon Saver Gold Standard Certificate reflects the Trust’s successful reduction in carbon emissions over a 12-year period, as well as its effective carbon management practices, while the Water Saver Gold Standard accreditation evidences a fall in water consumption and disposal over the past four years.

James Whittall, Sustainability and Social Value Lead said: “These certificates underpin the pro-active approach our organisation is taking towards sustainability management and the focus we are putting onto the delivery of the net zero carbon target by 2040. Improving the environmental performance of the Trust is a vital part of our Green Plan and these achievements are a positive indicator of the progress being made.”
