Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist

Bio

Qualified 2012 after Studying Adult Nursing at Leighton Hospital under the University of Chester.

I worked on a Colorectal surgical ward for just under three years here at Leighton Hospital.

I gained skill, knowledge and experience caring for patients before and after various bowel surgeries and endoscopic procedures. As part of this role, I also worked with various members of the extended team that help support patients in the recovery process, for example, the dietician, stoma nurses, pain team and Surgical consultants.

Following on from the colorectal ward I then moved to Critical Care in 2015, Spending just under three years working a senior staff nurse. During my eight years on critical care, I was able to expand my knowledge and skills in an acute and emergency care setting.

Leaving critical care at the start of 2023 I have recently joined the Colorectal specialist team here at Leighton Hospital and look forward to expanding my knowledge and gaining new a new skill set, allowing me to support patients throughout their diagnosis and individual journeys.
