Macmillan Colorectal Enhanced Recovery Physiotherapist
Bio
I completed my BSc Physiotherapy degree at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South in 2002. I knew from a very young age that Physiotherapy was the career for me as I grew up with a brother who suffers from Cerebral Palsy and saw what a difference physiotherapy made in his life. I did a rotational post for 12 months post graduation and then worked in both the private and public sectors before moving to the UK in 2004. I have worked in the NHS since 2006 and as a community physiotherapist for over 14 years covering various specialities. As my career progressed I realised through my interactions with patients and colleagues that my passion lies with Macmillan. I successfully secured the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Physiotherapy post for Macmillan and provide pre and post op support for those undergoing surgery. I am a passionate advocate for Prehabilitation and rehabilitation and have seen first-hand what a difference it makes. I am very proud to be a part of this team and will continue to put our patients first and am committed to quality and safety patient care.
