Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP) Children and Young Person Speech and Language Therapy is a specialist-level service and we use a graduated approach to supporting children’s speech, language and communication skills.

There are many ways to help children and young people develop their communication skills and only some children will need to see a speech and language therapist for them to make progress.

At every stage parents/carers, family members and education staff can help children and young people on their journey to developing their speech, language and communication skills to be the best they can be.

We have devised a stepped programme of activities and resources suitable for school-aged children:

Step 1: Want to help a child to communicate better?

Step 2: Concerned about a child’s speech and language?

Step 3: We’ve done all the activities in step 1 and 2, and I have a concern that a child needs extra support to communicate

This pathway is currently being revised. In the short term, please get in touch if you have questions.
