North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service

We are pleased to announce the official establishment of the North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service (NMCPS).

Following the NHS Improvement (NHSI) Initiative to establish 29 Pathology networks, Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust (MCHFT) and East Cheshire Trust (ECT), have been working with the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UNHM) to form a Pathology Network.  On the 1 December 2020, the network was formally establish as the North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service (NMCPS).

On 1 April 2021, UHNM became the legal entity responsible for the provision of Pathology Services with MCHFT and to ECT and any other organisations for which they have an agreement for the delivery of Pathology Services.  The Pathology Department is now part of the Children, Women's and Diagnostics Division of UHNM.
